Article: Movember: Supporting Men’s Health, One Conversation at a Time
20.10.2025
November marks Movember, a month dedicated to raising awareness about men’s health including mental wellbeing, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
At Mount Hutton Medical & Skin Cancer Centre, we’re encouraging men of all ages to take charge of their health. Small check-ins and early conversations can make a big difference.
Growing a moustache in November is a fun and visible way to show support, but the real message behind Movember is about encouraging men to look after themselves to check in on their mental health, talk openly about how they’re feeling, and keep up with regular health checks.
Many health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes and certain cancers can be prevented or better managed through regular screening and early intervention. Movember is a great reminder to book a GP appointment if it’s been a while since your last check-up. Our doctors can help with routine health assessments, prostate and testicular health, mental health support, and skin checks, as men are at higher risk of melanoma.
Starting a conversation is often the hardest part but talking saves lives whether that’s with a mate, a family member or your doctor.
