Dr Leonel Valansi
General Practitioner
FACRRM, MBBS
Languages spoken: English and Spanish
I am an experienced and empathetic GP with a strong focus on holistic, evidence-based care across all ages and stages of life. One of the aspects I love most about general practice is its unpredictability—never knowing what will walk through the door—and working alongside patients to navigate uncertainty together. I am particularly passionate about the diagnostic process and take pride in collaborating with patients, families, and specialists to reach accurate diagnoses and shared treatment goals.
I completed my undergraduate medical studies in Argentina before moving to Australia, where I undertook six years of training in adult internal medicine (physician training) across hospitals in Queensland and the Hunter Region. This experience gave me a deep understanding of complex, multisystem disease before I transitioned into general practice. I later completed my GP specialty training through the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM), where I remain actively involved in mentoring medical students and supporting GP registrars in training
